Dance at the Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center

Our Dance and Choreography program is designed for ages 5 to 18. The main focus of  this class is on students having fun and enjoying dance as an everyday wellness activity while learning culture, teamwork, discipline, confidence, stage presence, and overall coordination. 

Dances include traditional, modern Latin, and hip hop. All of our dance groups will have many opportunities to perform at our events and events throughout the community. 

Class Times

Grupo Coqui 

Ages 5 to 10 - 6:00pm Tuesday

Sabor Latino

Ages 11 to 18 - 7:00pm Tuesday

Ritmo y Raza 

Concentrates exclusively on the traditional dances from countries such as Spain, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and more. 

All ages - 6 to 7:30 pm every Tues and Thurs. 

fall Ballet classes 2019

Note: this class has already taken place. However, keep your eyes peeled for more ballet classes on here in the coming months.

Led by instructors from the renowned North Pointe Ballet, classes will consist of technique and rehearsal for the performance piece and also include an education component specific to Latin American dancers in the ballet world and historical significance with respect to these dancers and dance history. 

Students will learn about Latin American dancers, choreographers and dance companies in the ballet world, including those that have come to America, how they got their start in dance, significant dance accomplishments, etc. 

This class will be all about grace, discipline and inspiration!
